Good price on Turkish 5.56

Several Irregulars have brought my attention to this deal on ATI Turkish 5.56 62-grain "green tip" equivalent (but without the paint). It is packed in 30 round boxes, 990 rounds to the cardboard case, for $259.00. The price is excellent given recent trends. As to quality I do not know. Anybody out there have any experience with this stuff? Is Turkish ammo as good as Turkish tobacco? Does it burn clean?

This stuff costs approximately half as much as it did in late-2007/early-2008, and unlike 62 grain BT "Brown Bear" ammunition, ATI's product is reloadable.

I've recently worked my way through about a case of this stuff with a 18" midlength AR.

100% reliable, very accurate. The only noticeable difference between this and M855 (green tip) is it appears to be a little smokier, but I haven't noticed any more fouling.

Just attended a 3-Day Carbine Operators Course and Turkish ammo was mentioned and stated by instructor that, in his words, "is shit". Just thought I would pass it along- DC.

Shot a lot of the 7.62x51 with no problem.

If it's as good as Turkish hash, it's good to go. :)

Don't know about Turkish ammo, but the price is really exceptional. I bought 500 rounds of 5.56, made by Federal for $159.00 and figured that to be a top notch deal. Just look at the cost of reloading these rounds, with 25 or so grains of powder in each, plus bullets and primers...never mind the brass!

i liked the ammo. It didn't have enough oomph to cycle my rifles with a heavy bolt carrier. Wasr3, hk93 clone. worked well out of an ar15 and su16c.
